About the Project: This Courthouse was named after former Attorney General of Arizona from 1949 to 1953, Evo Anton DeConcini. The Courthouse was completed in 2000 and sits at the edge of the Downtown area as the 15th tallest building in Tucson. The steel building has 2 6-story towers connected with a glass bridge, and includes basement parking, 14 courtrooms, a circuit court library, ceremonial proceedings courtroom, Judges conference room and dining, Jury assembly area, probation office, Media & Press room, Audio & Visual systems, and a Cafeteria. It’s known as the cityscape to the desert due to its location, and this fact is showcased in the mural of the Sonoran Desert in the main lobby.

The Courthouse is part of the Tucson Division of the District of Arizona, which is under the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The jurisdiction of these courts are both civil and criminal matters that fall under federal law, and cover the districts in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, as well as the territories of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
